December 1978 - ECG Machine introduced in Arulrhaj Hospital

December 1978 - Two bedded ICU with Cardiac Monitors introduced.

July 1979 - Chest X-ray unit introduced

June 1980 - Mechanical ventilators introduced for the first time in Southern Tamilnadu

October 1981 - Temporary Pacemaker introduced

April 1983 - 2-D and M.mode echocardiogram for the first time in Tuticorin

November 1985 - Treadmill Test introduced

March 1987 - First closed heart surgery done.

September 1987 - Colour Doppler echo introduced

September 2005 - Digital Cathlab for the first time in Southern Tamilnadu.

october 2005 - First Angioplasty and Stenting done in Tuticorin

November 2005 - First Ballon Mitral Volvotomy

January 2005 - First Permanent Pacemaker implantation in Tuticorin.

February 2006 - First CABG done in Tuticorin.

April 2006 - First Angioplasty through the hand(Radial Angioplasty)done.

June 2006 - Cardiac support device intra-aortic ballon pump used for the first time
